Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Russian forces attacked the biggest nuclear power plant in Europe, sending flames into the sky and raising fears of another Chernobyl.

The Zaporizhzhia plant is located outside the city of Enerhodar. personnel have been able to keep the reactor running after it was damaged. There are not dangerous levels of radiation in the area.

President Zelensky made it clear that his country barely avoided total disaster. He said the attack on the nuclear plant was a terror of a new level.

The citizens of Russia were reminded that their countries were united in 1986 when the Chernobyl plant melted down.

Zelensky is urging Russians to demand an end to the war, because he accurately points out that if a nuclear plant goes up in Ukraine, the radiation will not stop at the border.

Boris Johnson called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss Russia attacking the plant.
