Google suspends all advertising in Russia

All advertising in Russia has been suspended.

The decision comes after Russia's internet watchdog accused YouTube of running large advertising campaigns to misinform Russians about the country's invasion of Ukraine.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal Thursday, the Russian regulatory body demanded that the internet giant stop showing false ads about the war in Ukraine.

The ads on search, YouTube and display marketing are suspended.

The Russian state media had their advertising stopped by Google because they didn't want people to take advantage of the conflict for financial gain.
