Reports that the performance of thousands of popular apps is being slowed have been addressed by the company.

We value the feedback we receive about our products and after careful consideration, we plan to roll out a software update so users can control the performance while running game apps.

According to reports, the performance of around 10,000 apps, including social media services and games, is being slowed by the phones. The software didn't seem to affect popular benchmarking apps like 3DMark, which means they may not reflect the real-world performance of the phones.

Samsung did not address the dubiousness of excluding benchmarking apps from throttling

The priority is to deliver the best mobile experience for consumers. The performance of non-gaming apps is not managed by GOS.

The statement posted in the app was translated into English by Dohyun Kim. The notice was authentic, according to the company.

An exact date for the update's roll out was not given and the benchmarking of popular apps was not addressed.

Last year, a similar situation happened to another device manufacturer, as it explained as a way of maximizing battery life on its phones. The option to turn this feature on and off will be added by the company.
