Madrid is not ruling out the possibility of trying to bring in two superstars.

They want to analyse the numbers and terms involved in a deal for Haaland to decide if they want to compete for his signing.

According to sources close to Barcelona, the Norway forward is a priority for president Joan Laporta, but there are doubts at the Real Madrid as to whether they could afford a deal that would involve a transfer fee, commission and salary of over $350 million.

In Spain and Germany, there is a feeling that City is in a good position to sign Haaland. Since last August, the premier league club has been working on his signing, and could offer superior terms to his LaLiga suitors.

The coach wants to add a ninth player to his squad. In the summer of 2015, City tried to strengthen their forward line with Harry Kane, and have since received over fifty million dollars in transfer funds.

Real Madrid want to assess the situation before making a decision on whether to pursue Haaland or not.

President Florentino Perez has a good relationship with the executives. There was contact between the clubs last summer to discuss the fee that would be required to sign Haaland.

The father and agent of Haaland visited Real Madrid's training complex at Valdebebas last April for informal talks after meeting with Barcelona president Laporta earlier in the day.

The ideal scenario for Real Madrid would be for Mbappe and Haaland to be in the same team.

Carlo Ancelotti refused to speculate about that possibility in a news conference on Friday, when he said they aren't Real Madrid players. I like to talk about my players.

There were reports that Madrid would like Haaland to stay at Dortmund for one more season before signing him, but that is not true.

Haaland would like to make a decision in the next few weeks to avoid any more drama, and he wants to leave this June.

Real Madrid want to speak to Dortmund before making a decision because they believe the situation will be resolved this month.

Out-of-contract players on free transfers will be used to reinforce the defence and midfield for Barcelona.

According to a report on Thursday, Barcelona are optimistic about signing Cesar Azpilicueta and are on the verge of getting defender Andreas Christensen from Chelsea and AC Milan's Franck Kessie.

The Haaland transfer can't be compared to the financial muscle of City or Madrid, but Barcelona is looking at ways to make it happen.

According to sources, the club are in talks with LaLiga to receive a cash injection from the CVC investment fund, after previously rejecting any involvement in the deal.
