Graham referred to his calls for Putin's assassination in a separate message on March 4.

It's easy to say, hard to do. Graham said that unless you want to live in darkness for the rest of your life, you need to step up to the plate.

Graham is not the first conservative American to call for the assassination of Putin. During a March 2 episode of The Sean Hannity Show, the Fox News host floated the idea that Putin should be assassinated.

Some Russians have advocated for regime change. A $1 million bounty was put on Putin's head by a US-based investor.
