With all the attention paid to England, you may have missed a change in the area of childbirth services.

Hospitals in England have been told to change their targets for Caesarean sections. It might sound like something that hospital bureaucrats only care about, but in fact it is a major reversal in a long-running battle over how we should manage pregnancies and births.

On the other side are those who argue that birth has become more medical. Natural birth advocates say that pregnant women should be allowed to give birth with as little interference as possible.
