According to the report, Apple is changing its mask requirements for employees. Retail workers will be able to wear masks at a small number of locations, but corporate staffers will not have to wear masks at offices where local indoor-mask mandates have been eliminated.
Apple dropped mask requirements for store customers in several states last week. At the time, employees were still required to wear masks, but it appears that Apple is relaxing those rules for some. In June, Apple dropped mask requirements for some stores and offices, but brought them back in July.
Apple didn't reply to a request for comment immediately.
It is not clear when Apple will reopen its corporate offices. The company indefinitely delayed a planned February 1st reopening in December, with CEO Tim Cook telling staffers in a memo that the return to work date was yet to be determined.
In April, employees from the Bay Area offices will return to work in a hybrid model. Meta plans to reopen on March 28th and the office of the CEO of the micro-blogging site will reopen on March 15th. Microsoft reopened its headquarters on Monday.
