A $1 million bounty has been put on Putin by a Russian businessman.

A photo of Putin and the words "Wanted: Dead or alive" were posted on Alex Konanykhim's LinkedIn post. According to The Jerusalem Post, Vladimir Putin is responsible for mass murder.

I promise to pay $1,000,000 to the officer(s) who will comply with their constitutional duty and arrest Putin as a war criminal under Russian and international laws.

A software company based in San Francisco, California, has a former bank CEO as its CEO.

He denied putting a bounty on Putin's life.

Konanykhin wrote in an updated Facebook post that it was not correct that he promised to pay for the assassination of Putin. I believe that Putin must be brought to justice, even though millions of people around the world would be happy with such an outcome.

Konanykhim said he posted a similar message on Facebook, but it was banned by the social media platform, because he promised $1,000,000 to officers who arrested Putin as a war criminal. He wrote his original message without the photo.

I promise to pay $1,000,000 to the officer who will arrest Putin for being a war criminal under Russian and international laws.

Konanykhin did not directly answer Fortune's questions about the bounty on Putin, but he did say that propaganda was hurting the lives of Russians.

I am dismayed and angry by the onslaught and war crimes that Russia is committing. If Putin loses his power, it will almost certainly lead to his arrest. He has no legitimacy as an elected leader as he eliminated free and fair elections, the news media and opposition a long time ago, so his power rests solely on fear.
