According to reports, DeAndre Jordan has found his next team.

The big man cleared waivers on Thursday and will sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

That is consistent with a report from earlier in the day.

Once Jordan clears waivers, the Sixers plan to release Willie Cauley-Stein, who is nearing the end of a 10-day contract, sources said.

The Los Angeles Lakers decided to waive Jordan and add D.J. Augustin. Augustin gives them more shooting, something that was a concern in their backcourt.

It's no surprise that the Purple and Gold moved on from Jordan. In January, Brian Windhorst reported that some teams believed the Lakers would look to trade him or Kent Bazemore in order to open up roster spots.

The report came when Los Angeles was playing a small-ball lineup of James, Anthony, and Howard. Even though Anthony Davis was out, Jordan remained on the bench, showing his small role on the team.

Since entering the NBA as a second-round draft pick in 2008, Jordan has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Lakers.

There was a time when the Texas A&M product was one of the best big men in the league, as evidenced by his resume that includes three All-NBA selections, two All-Defensive selections, two rebound titles and an All-Star nod.

As a member of the Clippers' Lob City teams, Jordan caught alley-oops from Chris Paul and was a teammate of Blake Griffin.

He averaged a double-double for six seasons in a row, but he is no longer that version of himself at this stage of his career. He started the season as a role player in the Lakers rotation, but his minutes diminished as the season went on.

He averaged 4.1 points and 5.4 rebound in 12.8 minutes per game for the Purple and Gold.

Maybe a change of scenery can help him rediscover his old form.

While Jordan won't be playing above the rim on a consistent basis like he did for the Clippers, he will join a familiar situation since 76ers head coach Doc Rivers was his head coach during his prime in L.A.

Rivers knows how to best use the big man, and Jordan will likely not be asked to do too much outside of backing up the big man if the big man is in foul trouble or unavailable.

B/Rs recommend.
