Perk's advice to Beal: 'Get all the lettuce you possibly can!' (0:59)

Bradley Beal should get all the money he can in his next NBA contract according to Kendrick Perkins. There is a time and a place.

Bradley said he is not rushing to make a decision on his future but that he is leaning towards re-signing with the Wizards.

When asked if he was leaning toward staying with the Wizards, Beal told reporters in Washington that it was fair.

If he declines his player option, he can sign a five-year, $246 million deal with the Wizards.

The star guard is out for the season after having surgery. The injury has allowed him to get a good look at the Wizards and the young players who are getting a bigger opportunity with expanded roles in his absence.

As crazy as this sounds, this is a blessing in disguise, because I can see the team. We can grow as a team. I don't have to rush to make a decision.

Washington owner Ted Leonsis and team president and general manager Tommy Sheppard have always had forward communication with Beal.

Ted, we are all good, said Beal.

Kristaps Porzingis, who was acquired from Dallas at the trade deadline, will play once he is cleared from his knee injury.

He is definitely unique in a lot of ways. I'm excited to see him on the floor. He can be special.

The biggest factors for his decision to remain a Wizard will be the team fielding a roster that is committed to winning and buying into Unseld's vision while also remaining an organization committed to the community off the court.

A group of guys that are committed to winning, buying into what the organization needs. I also play a factor in that. I have to be better, but being around the group of guys who want to win and who will buy into what we need to do is important.

The Wizards organization is going to be a topic of discussion this off-season.

He said that it was a big summer and that he was excited for it. It is a big summer.
