The new flagship phone from the company, the S22 Ultra, was introduced in February. We picked up one of the new devices, and thought we would compare it to the top-of-the-line phone from Apple, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, to see how it stacks up.

There are four cameras in the S22 Ultra, including a wide angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 10-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom.
It has a Wide lens, Ultra Wide lens, and a Telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom. When it comes to raw specifications, it's obvious thatSamsung wins out, especially in the optical zoom department.
It can be hard to choose a favorite from the many amazing photos taken by both phones, as you can see in the photos from our video and article. All of the photos we are showing were captured in the camera with the default settings of the phone.
Depending on the scene, you will see differences in color temperature. The cooler tone of the S22 Ultra is compared to the warmer tone of the Max. The S22 Ultra tends to elevate highlights, and while it can sometimes appear sharper, some may find the images to be too washed out because of it.
The S22 Ultra has more natural lighting for skin tones than the iPhone, but the contrast that the phone uses can make dark areas darker, which can cause images to lose out on a touch of detail. The images are more vibrant and can be more aesthetically pleasing, but they do vary based on the subject matter.
There is a lot of similarity in Portrait Mode. The edge detection and bokeh of the portrait photos of the S22 Ultra and the s22 Ultra Max have been improved. In some images, it is a little sharper, but the iPhone is more vibrant. The S22 Ultra does not do as well as the S22 as at preserving skin texture.
The 10x optical zoom, the 30x digital zoom, and the 100x digital zoom offered by the S22 Ultra are all superior to the. Even at 30x, you can get some usable photos out of the S22 Ultra.
For everyday videos, both the iPhone and the iPad are more than adequate because they both support higher-quality video for those who need it. The Cinematic Mode is better than the Live Portrait option because it restricts the feature to faces only, and also because the. The lack of good stabilization affects the quality of the 8K video on the S22 Ultra.
It is unlikely that most people pick their phone based on the camera capabilities alone, and the other factors are more important. Someone who owns multiple Apple devices will probably not buy an S22 Ultra or swap out their current device for a new one.
In day to day use, these phones are very similar and both take gorgeous, high-quality photos that rival those you can get with high-end point and shoot cameras, especially when lighting is good. Users can glean from the S22 Ultra what Apple might do in the future. Will Apple have the same optical zoom lens? There is a periscope lens with greater zoom capabilities in the works, and Apple is always working to boost camera technology.
