The World Cup play-off games with Scotland have been put off.

The winner of the play-off game will face Austria or Wales in a play-off for a place in the World Cup.

The ongoing invasion of the country by the Russian military has prompted Ukraine to ask the international tournament bodies to delay the fixture.

Russia had been due to face Poland in the semifinals, but have been thrown out of the tournament because of the invasion.

Prior to the Ukrainian request, Scotland international Adam Armstrong spoke about the emotion of playing in the play-off semi-final but admitted his job was to win the game.

The 29-year-old Saints player told Sky Sports News that it was a very difficult situation, but also that it was a football game. The players will be focused on the football when the game starts.
