There is an update regarding the launch of the highly anticipated new business class product. We can expect the first plane with the new product in 2023.
A brand new business class product was revealed in November of last year. This looked like a huge improvement over the current business class, as the new cabin features direct aisle access from every seat, and much more privacy.
The new business class was supposed to debut on the Boeing 777-9 at the time Lufthansa was supposed to start taking delivery of it. The product was still years away from being a reality.
The first plane will be delivered in late 2023, but it has been delayed by several years, and that is a positive sign.
It would take at least six years for the first passenger to experience the new business class seat on the Boeing 777-9.
I have to point out that Skytrax declared Lufthansa a 5-star airline just weeks after it announced its new business class. The announcement of a new business class was a key factor in the award. We wonder why Skytrax has no credibility.
There is an update regarding when we could see the first business class aircraft. The new business class product was going to be installed on some of the new A350s and Boeing 787s that were ordered by the airline.
The plan is no longer in place, but we have an updated timeline reported by SpaethFlies.
In the past few years, the Lufthansa Group has gone on quite a shopping spree.
The former Philippine Airlines A350s are the first plane to enter service with direct aisle access from every seat. The factory fresh A350s that were ordered for Lufthansa in 2022 won't feature the new product. One wonders if the product is going to be introduced by Lufthansa, or if there is something else going on.
The new business class product will be launched in 2023 by the airline, which is ahead of the delivery of the first Boeing 777-9. The first planes to feature the new business class seats will be the A350s and Boeing 787s.
What do you think about the new business class schedule?
