There is a 30% bonus on points transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offered by the American Express Membership rewards program. Points transfers are valid through Thursday, March 31, 2022.

You would get 1,300 Flying Club points for every 1,000 Membership Reward points you transfer through this promotion.

Amex offers a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club two or three times per year. The last transfer bonus from Amex to Virgin Atlantic ran through the end of the year.

Some of Virgin Atlantic's airline partners are more lucrative than others. The best use of Flying Club points is for travel in ANA first class. The redemption rates are listed here.

Paying 95,000 and 120,000 points for business and first class between the US and Japan is a great value to start with. You pay 74,000 and 93,000 Amex points for the 30% transfer bonus.

New first class and business class are amazing products. Japan's borders remain closed to tourists, so it's anyone's guess when they'll reopen.

You can get a 30% bonus when you transfer points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. This is definitely more of a niche program, but with a specific use in mind, there is a lot of value to be had.

If you value the convenience of a nonstop and don't mind paying the carrier imposed surcharges, Virgin Atlantic is a good choice.

Booking with partners is the real value. You could fly ANA first class to Japan for 93,000 Amex points, which is the best value. The issue is that Japan's borders are still closed and this redemption isn't worth much.
