The White House asked Congress to approve $32.5 billion in emergency funding so it could continue its fight against Covid-19.

The Office of Management and Budget sent a request to Congress for $10 billion in emergency aid to bolster humanitarian supplies, security forces and the economies in Ukraine and its central European partners.

OMB says another $22.50 billion would go toward securing the supply of Covid treatments, funding testing and vaccination, and working to develop vaccines that protect against future variants.

OMB acting Director Shalanda Young wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urging her to include these critical and urgent needs in a government funding bill.

Young's letter said that more money will likely be needed for Covid down the road.
