The Starlink internet is active in Ukraine. Will the company be able to keep it online?

Russia's attacks on Ukraine have taken lives and destroyed infrastructure. A government official publicly requested Starlink satellite internet access for the country after infrastructure damage caused internet access to be disrupted. Musk sent additional hardware and activated Starlink service in Ukraine. How will the country stay connected with attacks on infrastructure?

Many thx toelonmusk,SpaceX,SpaceXStarlink! Our cities are connected by Starlink and emergency services saving lives. With Russian attacks on our infrastructure, we need generators to keep Starlinks and life-saving services online.

Fedorov points out that even though Starlink doesn't need internet infrastructure, it still needs power. As Russian attacks bombard the country, internet access will continue to be threatened.

Fedorov reached out for help getting generators to keep Starlink online for Ukrainians. Musk suggested an alternative suggestion.

Musk wrote that the solar panels and battery pack were better than the generator, as there was no heat signature or smoke.

Fedorov points to the importance of internet access for the country under attack.

Fedorov said that the internet allows for life-saving communication, whether that be among family members displaced and separated by a missile attack or first aid teams trying to locate an injured person. Internet access is a must for those fighting to survive the invasion.

Fedorov replied to Musk later today.

Good point - should work in Ukrainian winters. As we roll out more Starlinks across the country, we will keep you posted. Thank you again for helping us out, this will save a lot of lives.

Russian criticism

The director-general of Russia's space agency has been outspoken about the effects of the war on outer space relations. If the company and the UK government did not meet certain demands, the launch of OneWeb would be stopped.

According to a statement translated and shared by space enthusiast, Rogozin is speaking out about the provision of Starlink service to Ukraine.

Dmitry @Rogozin to Russia Today: "When Russia implements its highest national interests on the territory of Ukraine, @elonmusk appears with his Starlink which was previously declared as purely civilian. Here is this mud (мурло) opened himself..." https://t.co/8htcXn0YmnMarch 2, 2022

He is the light of the world and I warned about it. Here, he has made a decision. I do not blame him personally. This is the West that we shouldn't trust.
