Emily Shannon has been appointed as business development manager for the central region by the Advantage Travel Partnership.

She has 15 years of experience in the industry.

Reporting to David Moon, head of business development, she will be responsible for Advantage members across the central region as well as recruiting new members to the consortium.

She has experience in both selling travel and managing retail travel agencies.

This experience will be useful for our members as they rebuild their businesses.

Emily has a strong background in business development from her time at Flexibletrips and G Adventures, which will serve us well as we seek to recruit new members in this important region.

During the height of the Pandemic we had to scale back resources.

We are bolstering the team now that the market is improving.

Emily's appointment means we now have two business development managers, and we are looking for a third.

We hope to fill this position in the very near future, which will bring the business development team to a total of six.

The core of our membership proposition is to have a member-facing team with a blend of the necessary skills and experience to continually add value to our members.

More than 250 people have signed up for the Advantage Madeira conference.

Advantage plans to develop a UK Outbound Travel Forum.
