The French finance ministry said Thursday that a super-yacht owned by a Russian billionaire has been seized.

The yacht, Amore Vero, is owned by the CEO of the Russian oil giant, the ministry said. The price of Amore Vero was put at $120 million by Superyacht Fan.

The yacht was seized in La Ciotat, a town in the south of France, according to a press release by Bruno Le Maire. The vessel was docked in La Ciotat in January.

The European Union and the United States placed Sechin on their sanctions lists. The EU, US, UK and others have imposed sanctions on Russian business executives who have ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He was a deputy prime minister of Russia until 2012 and is said to be a close ally of Putin.

The Amore Vero has a swimming pool that can be used as a helicopter pad. Oceanco says it has a private owner's deck and a sun deck.

The yacht can hold up to 14 guests in seven suites, and two of them can be used as villas, according to Superyacht Times.

The EU sanctions require the detaining of the vessel with immediate effect, according to the French finance ministry.

The seizure of Amore Vero appears to be the second instance of a European authority seizing a Russian billionaire's super-yacht.
