Just a day after German authorities seized a mega yacht owned by Russian billionaire Alisher, French officials seized a yacht they believe is owned by a company that is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire thanked French customs officers for their work in enforcing the European Union's sanctions against Russians.

The CEO of the Russian oil giant is Sechin.

Le Maire shared a French finance ministry statement that said Sechin was the main shareholder of the yacht.

The statement said that the yacht arrived in La Ciotat on January 3 and was expected to remain there until April 1.

At the time of the seizure, the vessel was making hasty arrangements to sail away without the planned repair work being completed.

This is not a finished story.
