The New Orleans Pelicans wore yellow socks during their game against the Sacramento Kings in a show of solidarity with Ukraine and to bring more attention to the large-scale invasion of the country by the Russian military.

After the invasion began last week, Valanciunas said war is not the solution.

Valanciunas said that it was a big mess. The enemy is still out there. Innocent people are dying. The war is still going on, so something else has to be done.

It has been a tough seven days. It is shocking when you look at your phone and see what is going on.

Willie Green said that the team came up with the idea while in Los Angeles on its most recent road trip and decided to wear yellow NBA-issued socks.

It is one of our core values. Awareness of what is happening in the world. Green said that the guys wanted to show their unity. We understand that we are blessed to have this platform to be able to play basketball, but there are some people who have it tough.

Valanciunas has spoken to the team about the invasion in the past few days.

I was all in if he wanted to do it.

The Kings were defeated 125-95. Valanciunas had 17 points and 14 rebound against Domantas.
