The National Labor Relations Board is said to have approved a petition for another Amazon warehouse union election. The LDJ5 facility will be the second in Staten Island to hold a union election if a vote goes ahead.

It's official! THE NLRB has approved our petition for an election in a second Staten Island warehouse, LDJ5. Two groups of Amazon workers in NYC are set to make their voice heard in the coming months, so please keep updated & support our grassroots campaign in any way possible!✊ https://t.co/dUuvosz84U

The ALU petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to hold union elections for all Staten Island facilities. It decided to focus on one warehouse at a time, and received approval to hold a vote at the JFK8 facility on March 25th. It later petitioned for an election at LDJ5 and the NLRB has to confirm that there is enough interest.

The National Labor Relations Board informed us that the ALU met the criteria to continue, according to a note sent to employees by Amazon. If the report is accurate, the next step would be an NLRB hearing followed by a decision about a vote date.

The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union lost the Amazon union election by a count of 1,798 to 738. A new vote could be held on February 4th after the National Labor Relations Board determined that Amazon interfered with the election. The counting is going to start on March 28th.
