The Ring of Honor was affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. In October of last year, the company said it wouldn't be holding shows in the first quarter of 2022. The talent contracts were not renewed in December while the company was on break.
As part of the deal, Khan acquired the entire video library of the company. Khan, the son of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan, indicated that he is hoping to put together future ROH events and shows.
This deal adds thousands of hours of content to our rapidly growing library and creates new opportunities to expand our footprint on a national and global scale, while having the potential to produce new content under the ROH banner, according to Khan's statement.
Ring of Honor has wrestled for some of the top superstars in AEW. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and Adam Page all spent time in the same place. The promotion helped launch the careers of some top wrestlers.
The first show of Ring of Honor's Supercard of Honor XV will be held in Garland, Texas.
