After signing with the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season, Beckham caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl and also scored two more times during the playoffs.
Les Snead and the Rams want him back, he told reporters Wednesday.
Jourdan Rodrigue @JourdanRodrigueRams GM Les Snead says “yes, we would definitely like” to re-sign WR Odell Beckham. Adds knee injury and recovery does factor into how they would then structure their timeline for his potential return and roster/position plan in the meantime as he does recover.
Beckham was released by the Cleveland Browns in November after three seasons with the team, as his partnership with quarterback Baker Mayfield never developed any chemistry.
Beckham was expected to be the third receiver in Los Angeles, behind Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, but he tore his knee in practice.
The veteran wideout was the second option for Matthew Stafford and he responded by catching 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdown in eight games. He had 25 catches for 316 yards and two scores in four games, helping the Rams win a title.
Beckham told reporters that he would take less money in free agency to return to the team.
Nick Shook @TheNickShookI asked Odell Beckham Jr. about his future beyond Sunday and if he’d sacrifice salary to stick with the Rams. The answer was a quick “yeah, of course!” with a smile.
“This place, it feels good in my heart. It feels like a home.”
It would be a plus for the Rams to have the three-time Pro Bowler back in Los Angeles. He will have injury uncertainty into the 2022 campaign after tearing his knee in the Super Bowl.
Snead told reporters about the possibility of re-signing Beckham, even if the injury costs him a major chunk of the upcoming season.
It sounds like all sides are in favor of a reunion. It's not clear whether the Rams can afford to bring him back. Von Miller, Darious Williams, Austin Corbett, Brian Allen, and Sebastian Joseph-Day are just some of the players who will be free agents.
