There was no doubt that Hurts would remain the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, after executive vice president and general manager Howie Roseman said there was no doubt that would be the case.

Roseman said there was no doubt about it when asked if Hurts was still the team's quarterback.

We have a quarterback who led his team to the playoffs, and he is going to get better and better. He will do everything he can to get better, and we have to help him.

In his first full year as the Eagles starting quarterback, Hurts completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 16 touchdown and averaged 7.3 yards per attempt.

He rushed for 784 yards and 10 more scores while helping the Eagles to a Wild Card spot.

In December of 2020, Hurts took over as the team's starting quarterback from Carson Wentz, who was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Eagles improved from 4-11-1 to over.500 because of the finalist.

The offense went from 26 to 12 in one year. The connection between college teammates Hurts and Smith was a big reason why the former Alabama star set a franchise rookies record with 916 receiving yards.

Hurts put the team on his back multiple times, including when he rushed for three touchdown in a 40-29 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Philadelphia could add more weapons around Hurts, which could push his ceiling even higher. Smith, Goedert and Watkins all had at least 300 receiving yards last year.

Thanks to their three first-round picks, the Eagles will have a lot of chances to do that.

For now, Hurts is atop the quarterback depth chart.
