Russell Wilson not considering Commanders or playing on east coast (0:26)

Russell Wilson loves playing in Seattle and is happy on the west coast. There is a time and a place.

The team has no intention of trading star quarterback Russell Wilson this year, according to Pete Carroll.

But in his first comments to the media at large since the disappointing season, Carroll again stopped short of shooting down the possibility entirely.

At this time of year, there are conversations about everybody, and we are talking about Wilson. It is commonplace for us to have conversations with teams about all of the players. It has been the same every year. It is the same as it has been.

We have no intention of moving there, but John Schneider has to field those. He has. There is nothing specific to that.

According to The News Tribune, after speaking to reporters, Carroll said that Schneider's standard response to teams that inquired about Wilson is that the Seahawks aren't shopping their quarterback.

During his 20-minute podium session, he said he was not surprised by all the speculation over Wilson's future, because last year it was out there like twice as much.

After Wilson publicly expressed his frustration with the organization, there was tension between the two sides and trade talks with the Chicago Bears began.

It's the quarterback world right now. You guys are trying to figure it out. That is what you have to do. There are a lot of people taking shots, and a lot of lines in the water trying to guess what will happen.

The team would listen to trade offers for Wilson, according to comments made by the coach to FOX 13 in Seattle.

Wilson had the most trying season of his 10-year career in 2021. He missed three games with an injured finger on his throwing hand and struggled with his accuracy after surgery. By the end of the season, the Seahawks were out of the playoffs.

Wilson wants to stay in Seattle and he has a no-trade clause. He has two years and $51 million left on his extension.

When asked about the future of the team, Carroll gave a conflicting answer.

Wilson's three-year, $54 million extension will count for $20.35 million in the final year.

We expect to play with Bobby. He had another great season. At this time of the year, there are a lot of guys that need to figure out where they fit together. We would love to be able to play with Bobby, he has been a steady part of it. We will do it if we can do that.

Quandre Diggs is an unrestricted free agent and the Seahawks want to bring him back. The franchise tag has only been used twice in 12 seasons by the Seahawks, but they have 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884 888-349-8884

The franchise tag deadline is March 8.

In the regular-season finale, Diggs suffered a fractured fibula and ankle. The injuries kept him from playing in the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row.

He didn't have any doubt that Diggs would be back on the field by training camp.

I would think that he would be back before then. We want to get him back.
