The Phoenix Suns will not have Booker for their game against the Portland Trail blazers on Wednesday night because he entered the NBA's health and safety protocol.

The Suns made an announcement.

Booker is a three-time All-Star and the team's leading scorer, averaging 25.6 points, 5.2 rebound and 4.6 assists per game. The Suns are also missing Chris Paul, who is an All-Star guard.

The team is hopeful that Paul will return before the playoffs after he broke his thumb. Without Paul, the Suns have lost two of three games.

The Phoenix Suns have the best record in the NBA at 49-12 and are trying to claim the top spot in the Western Conference playoff race. The Suns have a 6 game lead over the Warriors with 20 games left in the regular season.

Booker missed media day and the start of training camp in September.
