Ukraine is asking Russian mothers to come pick up their sons captured in Putin's invasion

The mothers of captured Russian troops are being asked to come pick them up.

The defense ministry wrote in a Facebook post that it was asking them to deliver the message to the thousands of miserable Russian mothers.

The defense ministry wrote instructions for Russian mothers to call a phone number to find out if their sons are dead or captured.

Instructions for Russian mothers to physically retrieve their sons if they have been captured are described by the defense ministry.

The defense ministry said that the Ukrainian people do not make war with mothers and their captured sons.

According to Radio Free Europe, the country's interior ministry had previously urged families to identify captured or killed Russian troops.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that 6,000 Russians were killed in the first six days of the invasion.

In a video address, Zelensky said that Russian mothers are losing their children in a foreign country.

Russia has yet to provide updated figures on its confirmed deaths. The number of Ukrainian military deaths is not known.
