Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss claims he has been offered the chance to buy the club, despite fears of UK sanctions.

Chris Bryant told the House of Commons that the Russian billionaire is terrified of being sanctioned and is selling his UK home and another flat.

The owner of the football club is looking to sell it as well.

After buying the club in a 140 million dollar deal, Abramovich is owed 1.5 billion dollars.

£3bn price tag to buy Chelsea?

Sky News reported that the price tag on the club was three billion dollars.

The Raine Group was expected to issue letters to prospective bidders on Wednesday, with a deadline set for indicative bids in mid-March, according to Sky News.

Sources close to the process said as many as eight multi-billionaires were being sounded out about their willingness to buy the club at a time when the UK Government is considering sanctions against Russia.

The Russian is said to have turned down an offer of 2.5 billion dollars for the club from a third party earlier this week.

Ineos tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Todd Boehly, an American businessman, have expressed an interest in buying the club in the past.

Several of the parties contacted by Raine are believed to be from the US.

Who could put together deal to buy Chelsea?

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solekhol does not believe that the process to sell Chelsea will be easy.

He said that for the first time since he bought the club 19 years ago, he was willing to listen to offers.

On Saturday, he tried to give up control of the club to the trustees. The current climate is going to be much more difficult for him to sell the club than he thought it would be.

Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has come out and said that the club is for sale. Chris Bryant used parliamentary privilege to say that Abramovich is terrified that he will be sanctioned by the UK government.

According to Mr Bryant, Abramovich wants to sell his house in London, and that was going to happen today. If he was trying to dispose of all of his assets in the UK, it would be obvious that he would also sell off his club.

The only problem is who could buy the club at the moment? Who could make a deal? Prospective buyers are going to think that this is a person, who could be sanctioned by the UK Government at any moment. His assets could be frozen. Is this person the one I want to do business with?

For the first time in 19 years, it looks likeAbramovich is willing to listen to offers for the club, as he has always said that he doesn't do anything that warrants being sanctioned by the UK Government.

It's going to be more complicated to sell the club at the moment than it is to hand it over to the trustees.

The club was not for sale, but did not comment on that on Wednesday.

Financial expert Simon Kuper questions who could join Hansjorg Wyss in a consortium to potentially buy Chelsea

Wyss claims that he has been offered the chance to buy the club, but only as part of a group.

Should the UK Government impose sanctions on the owner of the west London club, that could make it impossible for him to retain his ownership of the club.

Abramovich is trying to sell all of his villas in England, and he also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly, according to Wyss.

I and three other people received an offer to buy the club. I have to wait for at least four to five days. The man is asking too much.

You know, they owe him 2 billion. There is no money for Chelsea. We don't know the selling price.

I can see myself starting at Chelsea with partners. I have to look at the general conditions first.

I am definitely not doing something like this alone. If I buy the club, I will have a group of investors.

Thomas Tuchel has faced further questions about the future running of Chelsea but requests to stop being asked about the situation with Russia and Roman Abramovich

Thomas Tuchel asked reporters to stop asking him questions about the war in Ukraine, saying the situation is horrible.

Tuchel stopped the press conference after several questions, saying that he was not a politician.

I feel bad to repeat myself as I never experienced war. I feel bad talking about it.

As I sit here in peace, I am very privileged. You have to stop asking me these questions because I have no answers for you.

The day to day running of the club has not been affected by the decision to pass over control of the club to trustees.

He doesn't expect his responsibilities at the club to change despite the fact that the club will be handed over to a charity. The statement was released on the eve of the Carabao Cup final.

Thomas Tuchel says his role will not change too much after Roman Abramovich hands over stewardship of Chelsea to the club's board of trustees

Tuchel said that his position as a coach and in charge of the first team did not change much in the daily business.

I exchange ideas with Marina and Cech every day about how to improve the first team. It does not affect what I do on a daily basis.

Tuchel said it was too much for him to answer if it was a problem. I am not aware of the whole situation. There are situations more important than football.

This will not change. It is not for me to comment on the situation with Abramovich. I don't know enough about it.

Thomas Tuchel says Chelsea’s statement on the Ukraine crisis includes the club's owner Roman Abramovich

There are more important things than football. There is no other opinion than this about war. We should be more focused than anyone else. There is a huge distraction going on and we are worried, but we try to create an atmosphere where we can focus on our passion.

Everyone in Europe has noise in their heads that they don't like. Everyone is trying to do their best.

When asked if he was worried about the future running of the club, Tuchel said he wasn't sure if he was the person to give any messages to the fans that weren't sporting.

Gary Neville has criticised the statement from Roman Abramovich regarding his decision to temporarily step away from Chelsea, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine

We try to be calm here and we are calm in the center of a storm that we cannot control and we are also not responsible for it. Staying calm is the best way to focus on what we love. This is a sport. The players have a right to be focused on the game. We can tell the fans what they saw on Sunday.

There is a lot of commitment from the players and the fans, but everyone knows there are more important things. The situation in Ukraine is more important than football and yet there was a full stadium at Wembley and two strong teams who played a fantastic match. We can entertain the fans and distract them.
