Up to a 40% bonus is offered on purchases of points through Sunday, April 3, 2022. You can get the 40% bonus if you purchase at least 2,000 points. They will post to your account within 72 hours if you purchase points.

How much does it cost to buy Wyndham points?

You can buy points for 1.3 cents each, before any discounts or bonuses. If you maxed out the promotion, you will receive a total of 63,000 points at a cost of $585, which is a rate of.09 cents per point.

The math is the best on this version of the offer, because the program offers either a 40% bonus or 25% discount, so this is in line with those offers.

How many Wyndham points can you buy?

You can purchase up to 45,000 points per account before any bonuses. There is no practical way to get around this limit, as Wyndham rewards charges a significant amount to transfer points between accounts.

Points purchases are not counted as hotel purchases for purposes of credit card spending.

• Wyndham Rewards has an awesome partnership with Vacasa, allowing you to redeem points for a home rental for outsized value

How many points do you need for a Wyndham redemption?

There are three tiers of hotels when it comes to redemption.

• About a third of properties cost 7,500 points per night
• A majority of properties cost 15,000 points per night
• A few hundred hotels cost 30,000 points per night

It's like paying at a rate of 0.93 cents per point.

• ~$70 for a night at an entry level property
• ~$140 for a night at a mid-range property
• ~$280 for a night at a premium property

There are some situations where the numbers will work out, and I wouldn't say there's a widespread appeal to buying points for these redemptions. If you just need to buy a few thousand points to have enough for an award stay, it would be the best value.
