A Ukrainian security and defense chief said on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces have stopped an assassination plot against President Volodymyr Zelensky, using a tip-off from members of Russia's security services.
The Kadyrovites, an elite group of Chechen special forces, were dispatched by Russia to eliminate our president but were destroyed directly. The story was first reported by Axios.
The Federal Security Services of Russia, a successor to the KGB, provided information about the Zelensky plot. The supposed spies don't want to be involved in the war.
He said that Kadyrov's elite group was destroyed, which resulted in the elimination of our president.
The alleged assassins were split into two groups, one destroyed in the town of Gostomel and the other under fire.
There have been reports of attempted assassinations against Zelensky. Zelensky said that he was the number one target of the enemy sabotage groups, though he insists on remaining in the capital.
The Times of London reported on Monday that 400 mercenaries were flown in to kill Zelensky in exchange for a financial bonus.
