Kraven the Hunter has a leading lady. Ariana DeBose has been cast in the film as Kraven's occasional lover, according to a report.

In the 1980's, writer Denny O'Neil and artist Alan Weiss created a comic book called "Calypso", which was a Spider-Man villain. She is a witch and an expert in magic. She has been a threat on her own, despite occasionally partnering with Kraven.

DeBose won the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steven Spielberg's remake of West Side Story. She has appeared in Broadway productions of Bring It On: The Musical, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, and Hamilton.

Ariana DeBose made an appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Kraven is a long-time foe of Spider-Man. One of the greatest hunters in the universe is Kraven. It is unlikely that Kraven will have a connection to Spider-Man because the film is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story may make Kraven an antihero.

The movie is expected to begin production soon. The only other confirmed cast members are Russell Crowe and Fred Hechinger. Hechinger is rumored to be playing Kraven's half-brother.
