Don't censuring Wendy Rogers. She shouldn't be in the Arizona Senate anymore.

No one who calls for political enemies to be hanged on a new set of gallows deserves to serve the people of Arizona.

The far-right Republican senator has said a lot of awful things.

She has gone over the cliff in praising the white supremacist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.

At the America First Political Action Conference, where she called for the group's political enemies to be hanged, Rogers splashed her white supremacist tendencies all over social media.

So, no, Wendy. The few Arizona Republicans condemning you and threatening an official censure aren't after you just because you're sweet, grandma who loves Jesus and America, or just because you're a Republican.

I will not apologize for being white. Hit me all you want.

A censure is not enough for Rogers

There is nothing about wanting to hang political enemies or ignore the Holocaust that killed millions of Jews. There is nothing about siding with a brutal dictator over a democratically elected president, lying about a stolen election or promoting white supremacy over all other people.

Apparently, some Republicans are finally talking about censuring Rogers, which has sent her spinning out of control. She will personally destroy anyone who dares to vote for such a punishment.

According to the Arizona Mirror, some Arizona Republicans are considering a formal censure of Rogers after she spoke at a white nationalist group.

In practice, a formal censure is just a slap on the wrist. State Republicans are not tripping over each other to do it.

That tells you everything you need to know about most Arizona Republicans, including Gov. Doug Ducey, who still prefers Rogers over the idea of working with a Democrat.

It is time for Arizonans to shut the door on white supremacy. Arizonans should demand a formal vote to remove her. That would send a strong message to her and everyone else.

If they continue to stand by her, she is no better than anyone else.
