We now know when all six of the shows will move to Disney Plus in the US, just days after Disney quietly confirmed that all of the shows would migrate over to the service in March.
In March, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders will be streaming on Disney Plus, along with ABC's Agents of SHIELD. Michael Paull, Disney's president of streaming, said in the press release that the upcoming return of the intellectual property was a sort of evolution for Disney Plus as a platform.
Paull said that they are responsive to changes on the platform as they continue to build greater value for consumers.
In the US, Disney Plus content is more geared towards younger audiences than it is in other countries like Canada. A new set of parental controls, including profile-specific ratings restrictions, PIN locks for individual user profiles, and questions meant to prevent children from messing with settings are on the way from Disney.
It makes sense that Disney would take these steps, considering how much more graphic the former shows are compared to their cousins. It's interesting that the studio chose the Disney Plus route rather than moving the Defenders and co. to a different place.
Disney Plus will have new parental control features on March 16th, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Defenders, and The Punisher.
