He returned to practice in December and played well before leaving the game with the Magic up by 16 points in the middle of the fourth quarter.

Fultz had six assists and said it was a huge night. The fight every day to get to where we are today is what I have been fighting for all year. It meant the world to me to be able to help this team get a W in my first game back. It really means a lot to me to see the joy and excitement on everyone's face. We had a lot of fun.

The No. 1 overall pick of the Philadelphia 76ers signed a three-year, $50 million extension with the Magic in December 2020. Prior to the injury, he had been averaging a career-best 14 points, along with 3.6 rebound and 6.1 assists.

He said it was easy for him to be relaxed.

Carter had a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards in the win. Mo Bamba had 15 points.

Carter was happy to see Fultz back on the court.

Carter said he was excited to be on the court with him, and that it was a special one for him. This team is going to be a whole lot better when he gets his legs underneath him.

It was the second straight win for the Magic and the ninth loss in 11 games for the Pacers.
