Woman smeared in the face with human feces on New York City subway platform

Police say a woman had human feces on her face as she waited for a subway train in New York City.

Police are looking for a man who they say attacked a woman on a bench at the East 241st Street subway station in the Bronx.

The video was shared by the New York City Police Department and shows a man holding a black plastic bag approaching a woman and throwing it in her face.

The man pushes the bag into the woman's face. He put the bag on the back of her head when she buckled, then walked away.

The man behind the incident is being sought by police.

The attack took place three days before another woman was hit in the head with a hammer at the Queens Plaza subway station.

The woman had a fractured skull and lacerations to her head. She was in critical condition when she was taken to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

New York Mayor Eric Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul will unveil a new plan to combat violence on public transit less than two weeks ago.

The city's transit chief announced that barriers or doors would be installed on some subway platforms and that teams of officers and mental health workers would be deployed to remove homeless people from stations.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or for Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). You can submit tips on the CrimeStoppers website or on the New York Police Department's social media accounts.
