All future theatrical film releases in Russia will be stopped by The Walt Disney Company.

We are pausing the release of theatrical films in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis.

Disney said that they are working with their NGOs to provide aid to refugees.

Disney's decision to stop releasing movies in Russia comes amid a wave of other boycotts from the entertainment industry.

The streaming giant said it would not comply with Russian rules to carry news channels.

We have no plans to add these channels to our service at this time. The decision comes as a wave of Russian state-backed news broadcasts spread Russian propaganda justifying the war Moscow started in Ukraine.

Professional athletes and sports organizations are hitting Russia with their own sanctions. The Union of European Football Associations and the Federation Internationale de Football Association decided to bar the Russian teams from the World Cup in 2022.

The National Hockey League, which has more than two dozen Russian-born hockey players, has suspended agreements with Russian companies and the International Olympic Committee recommended banning Russian teams from competition for violating the Olympic Truce.
