The New Orleans Saints may be interested in a reunion this year.
The Athletic's Jeff Howe reported that New Orleans could look at the quarterback market in the weeks ahead but that the Saints appear to be comfortable with the possibility of bringing back Jameis.
Jim Trotter of NFL Media had a similar report. Trotter reported last Friday that the Saints are going to explore every option as it relates to quarterback, but that they are likely to negotiate a new contract with him.
After succeeding Drew Brees as the team's starting quarterback, Jameis was having one of his most efficient seasons ever. He set a career high in passer rating and posted his second-highest QBR, as he threw for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdown and three interceptions.
The 28-year-old was not as productive as he was last year, when he led the league in passing yards.
Even though New Orleans was without Michael Thomas, who had an ankle surgery in the off-season, the first half was a solid one for Winston.
The injury raises a big question about his availability for the next season. His agent shared a video of him running on a treadmill.

The Saints would have no doubts as to their plans if they had seen how good the quarterback was. The only other option would have been to re-sign him.
As the organization charts its course in the post-Sean Payton era, it makes sense to stick with Winston as the starter.
The team is projected to be over the salary cap, so it could be a transitional year. The front office would have more time to develop a long-term strategy at quarterback if the Saints had a stopgap solution.
