Derby County's administrators have been asked for an urgent update by the English Football League, with a proof of funding deadline looming.
The four-week extension was given to Quantuma to show how the Rams would be funded for the rest of the season.
There is no news on a preferred bidder for the club.
Derby has been in administration since September.
The Championship side have been deducted 21 points this season and are currently in the bottom half of the table.
It was thought that the main obstacle to the club finding new owners had been negotiated when Derby reached a resolution with Middlesbrough over the compensation claim brought against the Rams.
The claim was about the Rams breaching their financial covenants in the season which cost them a place in the play-offs.
There has been little news since, with a claim against Derby still outstanding.
