The CEO of the Miami Marlins is stepping down.
The Miami Marlins and I are ending our relationship and I will no longer serve as CEO or a shareholder in the club. We transformed every aspect of the franchise through hard work, trust and accountability, and developed a long-term strategic plan for success.
The vision for the future of the franchise is different than the one I signed up to lead. As a new season begins, now is the right time for me to step aside.
The group that won the right to buy the Marlins in August of last year became official about two months later. The purchase had a 4% stake in it by the CEO, and he was overseeing baseball operations.
The Marlins have the worst record in the National League in four of the last five seasons, despite making the playoffs in 2020.
