It may take years before we can actually buy a large, foldable device from Apple.
Ross Young, an analyst with the Display Supply Chain Consultants, said last week that Apple is looking into the idea of a foldable notebook. Young said it would be a notebook with a full-size keyboard when folded and 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465, but Apple isn't in a hurry to launch such a device.
Mark Gurman confirmed the report in his Power On newsletter. He says it would be a MacBook/iPad hybrid, but instead of having a physical keyboard, it would be a foldable tablet with one side serving as a virtual keyboard.
Thanks to the Yoga Book and the X1 Fold, we know how this could look like. At least we know that it can be done and that Apple will be able to improve on the concept.
Gurman devoted the bulk of his newsletter this week to the idea of a $199 iPhone for emerging markets, though there doesn't seem to be any concrete evidence that Apple is actually planning to launch such a device. We know that Apple is likely to release a new version of the iPhone in March.
