Scotland women are scheduled to play a World Cup qualifier in Ukraine in April

The Scottish FA president sent a message of support, friendship and unity to his Ukrainian counterpart.

The SFA is in talks with Uefa and Fifa over matches with Ukraine.

The men's and women's teams from Scotland will play in the World Cup play-off on 24 March and 8 April, respectively.

Football is unimportant amid conflict.

Scotland fans and citizens have communicated a strong sense of solidarity with us.

The SFA has offered to support our Ukrainian colleagues in these difficult circumstances.

If the conflict continues, the organisation will not approve the nomination of a team to play in the Uefa Regions Cup fixture against Russia. European amateur teams compete in the Regions Cup.

Should any other matches arise at any level of international football, this will remain our position.

The Scotland men's team were drawn at home to face Ukraine, while the Women's World Cup qualification will take place in Kyiv.

The squad will be named on 15 March, with the winner of the semi-final progressing to the play-off final on 29 March against either Wales or Austria.

The Scottish FA is talking about the men's under-21 side's match in Kazakhstan on March 29 because it requires a flight through either Russian or Ukrainian airspace.
