The Georgetown men's basketball team set a school record with its 18th straight loss on Sunday.

With the loss, the Hoyas became the first last-place team in the Big East since the league began in 1979-80, and they are on the verge of setting a school record for losses.

The four-day run to the conference tournament title last year seems like a long time ago, as questions continue to be raised about the future of the coach.

When asked about his future, he said he wanted to be back here. I hope that I will be back and doing something that I love and that we will get back to being the king of the hill.

The consistency of the Georgetown bench has not been able to be maintained by a fixture in Big East history as a player. His career record fell to 68-81 after the loss to the Huskies. He has just one winning season at his alma mater.

The results are affecting Georgetown. A crowd of just 7,114 people watched the Georgetown Hoyas lose to the University of Connecticut.

It shows how quickly fates can change in college basketball. The Hoyas won the conference at Madison Square Garden and secured a bid to the NCAA tournament. The Hoyas lost to Colorado in the first round of the playoffs.

Last year was a better one for us.

Connecticut shot 11-of-20 on 3-pointers. At least seven different people made a 3. With the win, Connecticut remained in third place, a game ahead of Creighton, with one week left to play before the Big East tournament begins again in New York. The University of Connecticut is in great shape to make consecutive NCAA tournaments for the first time since 2011.

The Hoyas will play at Seton Hall on Wednesday and end the regular season at Xavier on Saturday.
