According to reports, one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world has joined a territorial defense battalion in the midst of the invasion by Russia.

The man seen in the image wearing military fatigues was said to have traveled to Greece. The two-time Olympic gold medal boxer recently returned to his home to be with his family.

The mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, recently announced that he would assist in defending his country.

Vitali told Good Morning Britain that he had to do that.

The president of the World Boxing Council Ukraine expressed his pride in the boxers who have chosen to defend the country.

Kovalchuk said that they were proud of their boxers, real champions in boxing, and the Ukrainians.

The fight between George Kambosos and Vassili Filippov will take place in Australia on June 5. Since losing to Teofimo Lopez in October of 2020, a former three-division champ, Vassiliy Lomachenko, is coming off back-to-back victories. He had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
