Damian Lillard is moving on to the next stage of his abdominal injury rehabilitation and will be reexamined in two to three weeks.
Malika Andrews @malika_andrewsThe Trail Blazers announce that Damian Lillard will progress to the next phase of his abdominal rehab — which includes some basketball activities. He will be reevaluated again in 2-3 weeks, per team.
During the 2021-22 season, health concerns have been the primary storyline for Lillard, and he underwent surgery in January for an abdominal injury that was bothering him. Things were even more difficult for Portland because of the injury toCJ McCollum, who was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.
One of the best players in the league when healthy is Damian Lillard.
He is a six-time All-NBA selection and six-time All-Star who can take over a game with his ability to hit from the outside, attack off the bounce and set up teammates when defenders collapse on him. Portland is less dangerous when he is not on the floor because of his tendency to dominate crunch time.
He is shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from deep, and he is averaging 24.0 points, 7.3 assists and 4.1 rebound per game.
The Portland team is currently in 10th place in the Western Conference and will be playing in a play-in game.
