Ali Marpet, a Pro Bowl left guard for the Buccaneers, is retiring.
Marpet finished his first Pro Bowl season at 28 years old. He is considered one of the top offensive linemen.
Marpet made the decision due to his health concerns, according to a source.
He wrote in his post that he decided to retire from the game after seven years with the Buccaneers. I look forward to serving the community in the coming years because I have made it my home. To the coaches and teammates, family and friends, a post on social media is not enough to express the impact you have had on me. I am eternally grateful. Thank you to the city of Tampa Bay.

Marpet became the highest drafted player in Division III history when he was drafted in the second round. He was the first Division III player to be selected in the top 100.
Replacing future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady is a daunting challenge for the Bucs. Replacing Marpet, who missed just 12 games in seven seasons, will be a big challenge.
In 2022, Marpet was due to make $10 million.
Over the three seasons since my arrival, Ali has meant a lot to our team. He has been a rock for us in the interior of the offensive line and we will miss him. It is never easy saying goodbye to a player who has meant so much to our success, but I support and respect his decision and wish him a great life after football.
During the team's visit to the White House, Marpet met with Vice President Harris to discuss voting rights.
Marpet produced a 93.7% pass block win rate, which ranked ninth-best in the league as a guard. He was one of six players in the last four seasons to have a pass blocking rate of at least 92%.
The departure of Brady and Marpet is one of the reasons why starting center Ryan Jensen and right guard Alex Cappa are set to become unrestricted free agents next month.
