The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River, according to CNN. Zelensky said he was reluctant to hold peace talks with Russia in Belarus because of the Russian invasion.

Zelensky, who has opted to remain in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv despite reported offers from the US to help him evacuate, called on his friends in the country to help defend it.

Please stop those who are lying, or trying to lie to you. He said during the Saturday morning briefing that we need to stop the war.

In a video posted Saturday morning, Zelensky said he was here. We are not giving up. We will be defending our country, because our weapon is truth, and our truth is that this is our land, our country, our children, and we will defend all of this.

That is all. I wanted to tell you that. He said that he was proud to be a Ukrainian.
