A growing number of European countries announced on Sunday that they were closing their airspace to Russian planes.

At least a dozen European countries made similar announcements.

There is no room in Dutch airspace for a regime that applies unnecessary and brutal violence.

The minister of foreign affairs from the Danes, Jeppe Kofod, said he would push for the banning of Russian aircraft from the airspace of the European Union.

Wizz Air said on Sunday that it would be canceling its flights to Russia for at least a week. The airline said that it would not be able to get spare parts for its planes in Russia because of the sanctions.

The British government banned all flights by Aeroflot from its airspace, and the German airline said on Saturday that it would not use Russian airspace for the next week.

Russian aircraft were banned from Germany's airspace for the next three months.

S7, Russia's second-largest airline, suspended its flights to Europe after the Russian government banned flights from several European countries.
