Russian President Vladimir Putin was praised again by former President Donald Trump.
Yesterday, I was asked if I thought President Putin was smart. I told the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference that he was smart.
The problem is not that Putin is smart, but that our leaders are dumb.

Trump has long expressed admiration for Putin, and this week he described his war strategy in Ukraine as genius.
The former president was criticized by Democrats and military veterans for his praise of the Russian leader.
In his CPAC speech, Trump blamed President Joe Biden and NATO nations for the invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian attack on Ukraine is appalling, an outrage and an atrocity that should never have happened. We are praying for the people of Ukraine. Trump said God bless them all.
When a weak president is not respected by other nations, you have a chaotic world. The world has been chaotic since World War Two.
Trump claimed that America was powerful, cunning and smart under his leadership, but is now a stupid country.
Trump praised the bravery of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and claimed that Russia's invasion would not have taken place if he was president.
He criticized the US and NATO nations for their response to Russia.
If you take over Ukraine, we will sanction you, they say. Sanction? That is a pretty weak statement, Trump said.
Putin is saying that they are going to sanction him. For the last 25 years, they've given me sanction. They are going to sanction me if I take over a whole country. They are not going to blow us to pieces.
NATO members have no legal obligation to act on behalf of Ukraine.
NATO has responded to the Russian invasion with a number of actions, including sending weapons to Ukraine.
Zelensky appeared to be under pressure to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter after Trump was impeached in 2019.
When asked what he would do differently if he were president, Trump was evasive.
Trump told a reporter on Saturday night that he would do things, but he wouldn't want to say it right now.
