Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall
Josh Taylor (left) retained his WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts

After his split decision victory over Jack Catterall, Josh Taylor conceded it was not his best performance.

After England's Catterall looked to have claimed an upset, the Scot held on to his status as undisputed light-welterweight world champion.

It was Taylor's first defence of his belts.

In the second half of the fight, Taylor took over and won the fight.

I didn't think I needed to stop. He stole a few rounds in the middle but I won the 12 rounds. It wasn't my best performance, but we move on.

I know I won the fight.

  • Reaction & as it happened

Taylor said Saturday would be his last at light-welterweight but did not rule out a second fight with Catterall.

He said that it is probably his last fight at 140 to be honest.

I will fight anyone in the world.

I felt a little tight in the first half of the fight. A little too tense, trying too hard. I had to put a lot of pressure on myself to perform well.

I left it a little bit too late to get the weight down but it is not an excuse. The weight was not an issue from the performance.

He did everything I knew he was going to do, but it was not the best performance from me.
