The Stadium Series victory over the Nashville Predators was influenced by the large number of fans in the crowd at Nissan Stadium.
The coaching staff mentioned it before the game. There was extra motivation because of all the fans. Steven Stamkos said after the victory over Nashville that they wanted to perform well for them.
The NHL said that the game was a sellout. The majority of the crowd was made up of Lightning fans who were eager to watch their team in the first outdoor game in franchise history. They cheered in the stands and chanted in the stadium concourse after goals by Point, Stamkos and Kucherov.
It was amazing. Jon Cooper said that he had to turn around when they scored because it was a sea of blue behind them.
It was amazing. We were so far away from home that I was not expecting so many fans of the Lightning. I am respectful of it. We tried to play harder because we knew they were there. It felt like we were at home.
The Lightning fans were in Nashville on Friday and Saturday. Point said that it definitely motivated them when they saw so many Lightning fans.
Nashville is a destination city, so it was no surprise that the game had so many fans.
Being a TennesseeTitans fan, you see opposing team's jerseys all around the city. He said it was a compliment to the city of Nashville because people want to come to it.
The fans made a difference, whether it was the destination or the event that brought them to Nashville.
Pat Maroon said that it felt like there were more fans of the other team. I am aware that you guys froze your butt off. Hopefully you had some cold beers to warm you up.
